- Asos third-quarter retail sales up 30%
- UK sales rose 28% during the period
- International sales increased 31%
Asos continued the strong run of sales in its third quarter driven by rising sales in the UK and abroad as well as soaring shopper numbers.
The fashion etailer reported a 30% rise in retail sales in the four months to June 30 as UK sales soared 28% and the number of active customers jumped 24% to 12 million.
International sales were up 31% overall, driven by a 53% increase in US sales and a 32% rise of sales in Europe.
Overall, international purchases comprised 59% of the etailer’s total sales during the period, in line with last year’s results.
Asos’s latest results follow an 18% jump in pre-tax profit in its half-year profits in April and the etailer said it expects full-year sales growth to be at the upper end of 20-25%.
The online retailer closed down its standalone China website in May and said the operating losses and closure costs were “in line with guidance” of £10m.
Chief executive Nick Beighton said: “I am pleased to report strong retail sales growth of 30% over the four months to 30 June 2016, underpinned by our continued price and proposition investments.
“Given the increased momentum within the business combined with our strong financial position, we will maintain our successful programme of reinvestment to take advantage of the opportunities currently available to us.”
