Blue Inc ecommerce director Ajay Nassa has left the struggling fashion retailer after three years with the business.
Nassa has moved on to join EMP Merchandising, a Germany-based music merchandise store, as UK managing director.
At Blue Inc, which has around 140 stores, he had responsibility for the ecommerce arms of the main business and sister brand Officers Club.
It comes following reports last month that Blue Inc was set to be taken over by its biggest supplier, Bangladesh firm Padma Textiles.
A year ago Blue Inc closed around a third of its stores as part of a restructure.
Prior to Blue Inc, Nassa was head of ecommerce at Little Mistress and also spent time in various roles at Elvi, a plus-size women’s retailer.
Nassa’s departure follows that of long-time chief executive Steven Cohen, who left the business in October to work at a US-based retailer.
New chief executive Peter Girt, who has been at Blue Inc in various roles for the past decade, said: “Ajay Nassa has done a fantastic job in improving and driving ecommerce during his time with Blue Inc.”
Girt said Blue Inc has appointed an as-yet-unamed new ecommerce director who will join the business in early March.
Blue Inc’s store numbers were bolstered by its acquisition of 46 Officers Club stores out of administration in 2011.
In its year to December 2015, sales hit £114m at the menswear group.
