Fashion retailer Blue Inc delivered strong Christmas sales, led by its eponymous chain.

Like-for-like sales at Blue Inc stores advanced 9% in December. At group level the retailer, which bought 46 Officers Club shops from the administrator in March last year, posted a 5.5% like-for-like rise and total sales surged 75%.

Officers Club like-for-likes were flat, “held back by our ongoing stock clearance exercise” a spokesman said.

Blue Inc, which is backed by former M&S boss Sir Stuart Rose, is thought to be considering seeking new investment this year.

The retailer continues to expand. Last week Blue Inc agreed to buy 20 former D2 stores from the administrator.
