Clarks is to launch its first store dedicated to men’s footwear with a pop up shop in central London.
The shop, located at 55 Neal Street in the Seven Dials centre in Covent Garden, opens on October 23 for three weeks and will stock an edited selection of its autumn 2014 men’s collection.
Clarks head of marketing for UK and Ireland Alison Sudbury said: “As we continue to invest in elevating the menswear brand and showcasing our style credentials, the opening of this standalone pop up is an important move for us as a brand in the UK & ROI. The new store will allow us to showcase our undeniable heritage, craftsmanship and stand-out menswear collection.”
Clarks, which operates more than 1,000 stores worldwide, dipped its toes into pop-ups in 2011 when it opened a Clarks Originals pop-up shop to coincide with London Fashion Week.
The shop, which was intended to shine the light on its famed desert boots range, opened for three weeks on the ground floor of its Regent Street branch.
Clarks was founded by brothers James and Cyrus Clark in 1825.
The retailer posted a pre-tax profits rise of 5.5% to £119.8m for the year to January 2014, driven by strong back-to-school sales in the UK. Sales grew 5.5% to £1.54bn during the period.
The group is headed by chief executive Melissa Potter.
