Cocosa, the luxury etailer owned by Mohamed Al Fayed, has shaken up its management team.

Managing director Gwynn Milligan, who joined only seven months ago, is understood to be leaving and David Llamas taking over on an interim basis.

Llamas was formerly chief technology officer of Harrods, where he worked for nine years including during the ownership of Al Fayed.

Milligan joined Cocosa from online fashion giant Asos, where she was commercial and merchandising director. She joined a month after Al Fayed acquired Cocosa for an undisclosed sum last July.

Milligan’s predecessor, former Sephora.com executive Linda Peters, was in the position for only eight months before she was replaced.

Al Fayed has already shaken up the business model of Cocosa, which sells discounted designer fashion. The etailer launched in 2008 as a private members’ site but was opened up to the public last October after Al Fayed’s acquisition. It is also poised to introduce a full-price site next year.

Cocosa is seen as a springboard for Al Fayed to launch a new retail empire. The tycoon sold luxury department store Harrods to Qatar Holdings for £1.5bn in 2010.
