River Island retail director Steve Morris has stepped down from the fashion retailer after more than three years in the role, Retail Week can reveal.
Morris joined River Island in January 2020 and was previously global retail and new business director at fashion and homewares retailer The White Company.
River Island head of stores Katrina Smedley has also left the retailer.
This follows a string of senior management changes within the business over the past year, following the departure of former chief executive Will Kernan and marketing director Jill Gate in November last year, as well as the return of Richard Bradbury as executive chair in December.
River Island chief product officer Phil Cooke left the business with immediate effect in April.
Sources close to the fashion retailer also said there is movement in middle management across “most of the head office departments”.
Retail Week has reached out to River Island for comment.
The fashion retailer reported operating profits of £73.5m, up from a loss of £36.2m, in its latest trading update for the full year to December 25, 2021.
River Island posted EBITDA for the period of £94.8m while revenues also jumped 23.2% to £740m for the 2021 financial year.
