Secret Sales’ expansion strategy has a ‘strong focus on European markets’

Secret Sales said its latest market launch “opens the door for brands and retailers to expand their off-price strategy” to reach a potential 3.4 million customers online in Ireland.

Shoppers can expect to see 450 premium brands online including Diesel, Asics, Hackett, Ted Baker, Superdry, Plein Sport, Dsquared2 and Aquascutum.

The announcement comes after Secret Sales acquired Spanish online fashion retailer Dreivip in September and contributes to its mission to become the “go-to destination” for non-full price retail across Europe by 2025.

Secret Sales chief executive Chris Griffin told Retail Week: “This year we’ve been actively investing in our international expansion strategy, with a strong focus on European markets.

“Our strategy has been twofold: working with global brands to help them monetise their non-full price inventory, while simultaneously helping local brands build their global reach and creating new opportunities to sell off-price products outside of their domestic territory.

“Last month, we successfully acquired Dreivip, a leading e-commerce platform in Spain, and this month, we’re thrilled to announce our expansion into Ireland.

“Ireland presents an exciting opportunity for our brands and retailers to capitalise on a consumer market that already shows strong demand for off-price fashion. Initially bringing 450 premium brands and retailers along with us and quickly accelerating thereafter, we are poised to establish ourselves as one of Ireland’s largest off-price marketplaces, delivering instant value to Irish shoppers just ahead of Christmas.

“We’ve thoughtfully curated our selection, featuring brands like Dsquared2, Cavalli, Diesel, Asics, and Ted Baker, tailored to the preferences of online shoppers in the market. We are excited to officially open the doors.”

Secret Sales said it remains “on track” to finish the year with growth of more than 150% year on year across its Europe region, with inventory growth also anticipated to exceed more than 100% year on year following the expansion into Ireland.
