Kate Bostock, one of the best-known names in clothing retail, is opening a shop for her children’s brand in a leading shopping mall, Retail Week can reveal.
The Angel & Rocket store opening comes as the brand celebrates 10 years in business.
Bostock set the business up on her own after holding some of the most prominent positions in apparel retail.
Angel & Rocket will open in 1,400 sq ft premises at Westfield White City imminently, where it will trade close to other childrenswear retailers as well as Next and Marks & Spencer.
Bostock – who previously held top clothing roles at retailers including Marks & Spencer, George at Asda, Next and Asos – told Retail Week that Westfield was a location “second to none”.
She said: “It’s in a good foot-flow spot and is a real step forward. We’re pretty confident it should do well.”
Angel & Rocket has two standalone UK shops at present – a boutique in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, and an outlet at McArthurGlen in Swindon, Wiltshire – and is sold through 12 John Lewis stores and Next’s website.
There are also five shops in India – the business has Indian investors alongside Bostock – and distribution in areas of the US through partners such as department store Van Maur, as well as an online offering in the Middle East.
Bostock said the Marlow shop has earned destination status, particularly with customers visiting from the Middle East, and that Angel & Rocket would be keen to find a franchisee there.
Angel & Rocket specialises in own-design clothing and occasionwear for children from newborns to age 14.
