Frasers Group has reportedly outlined plans to permanently close its Trafford office in Manchester, putting around 100 jobs at risk of redundancy at the fashion giant.
The jobs at risk are reportedly across the Studio Retail and I Saw It First brands and impacted staff have been given the chance to move to other Frasers Group offices, Drapers first reported.
In an email seen by the magazine, Frasers Group said: “Due to the challenging economic and trading climate, there is a need to continue to review resources and operations to ensure that all group companies are operating efficiently and cost-effectively.
“It is against this backdrop that, following a recent business review, there is a proposal, which remains subject to both collective and individual consultation, to permanently close the Trafford office.”
Frasers first bought the Trafford office, which was formerly the headquarters of fashion giant Missguided, in July 2022, for £6m.
Frasers sold the brand’s intellectual property to fast-fashion giant Shein last October but the deal did not include the Manchester-based office.
Plans for the future of the property remain unclear.
