JD Sports has appointed former Asos chair Ian Dyson as its new non-executive director.
Dyson currently chairs the board at Currys and will join the sportswear retailer’s audit and risk and remuneration committees.
He was previously chair and senior independent director at Asos and gambling firm Flutter.
In a career spanning both consumer-facing industries and public company boards, Dyson has held various executive positions, including group finance and operations director of Marks & Spencer, chief executive of Punch and group finance director of Rank Group.
Andrew Higginson, chair of JD Sports, said: “I am delighted to welcome Ian to the JD board. He brings a wealth of relevant experience and insight to our deliberations.
“The appointment of Ian is further progress towards strengthening the board’s broader PLC experience base.”
