- Finery launched last year and reported £5m in sales in its first 12 months of trading
- Will open in six John Lewis stores, including Oxford Street
- Finery was co-founded by Caren Downie, a former fashion director at Topshop and buyer at Asos
John Lewis is to bolster its fashion roster after signing a deal to stock products from online clothing retailer Finery in six stores.
Finery, which stocks women’s clothes and accessories, was founded last year by former Topshop fashion director Caren Downie and Nickyl Raithatha, a former global mananging director at German tech firm Rocket Internet.
It has attracted 100,000 customers since its launch and recorded £5m in sales.
From Friday it will open concessions in six John Lewis stores including Oxford Street, Sloane Square, Manchester, Cheadle, Birmingham and Liverpool.
Raithatha told The Daily Telegraph the concessions will help “accelerate awareness of our brand”.
“It is important for us to be wherever our customers want to be and there will always be people that want to try clothes on before they buy,” she said.
Raithatha said there are no plans as yet for a standalone store, but the business planned to open further concessions in order to reach more customers.
“We realised there was a gap in the market for women who wanted quality designed clothes between the high street and designer,” Raithatha added.
