Joules has unveiled a “strong” Christmas performance when revenues rose across the business.
Joules reported a total retail sales rise of 19.2% in the seven weeks to January 7. Both its stores and online businesses grew.
The upscale retailer, which emphasises its British heritage, said that retail gross margin was expected to be in line with the previous year as it adopted a “disciplined” stance on promotions.
Joules chief executive Colin Porter said: “The group’s retail performance through the Christmas trading period is testament to the strength of the Joules brand, unique product proposition and customer engagement.
“Both stores and ecommerce channels delivered good growth with the increasing awareness and popularity of the brand.”
Joules, which floated on AIM almost two years ago, will post first-half results on Wednesday, January 31.
The retailer has 118 stores in the UK and Ireland and sells internationally in countries including the US, Germany and France.
