Marks & Spencer is to hold down the price of school uniforms as the back-to-school period nears.
It is the fourth consecutive year that Marks & Spencer has left the price of uniforms unchanged as customers have borne the burden of inflation in many essential goods and services.
The retailer will also run a 20%-off early-bird offer on uniforms from July 2.
Marks & Spencer is also extending its levels of service in school uniforms. There will be dedicated school uniform advisers in approximately 100 branches – a £1m investment, according to M&S.
The retailer’s recent Family Matters Index research indicated that, although inflation has been falling, the cost of living is still a concern for three-quarters of families.
M&S kidswear director Alexandra Dimitriu said: “As the UK market leaders during the back-to-school season, we’re maintaining the magic of M&S.
“Trusted value, hand-me-down quality and exceptional service sit at the heart of what we offer, and this year, we’ve done everything we can to bring this to life for families.
“From our hold on prices to investment in school uniform advisers, we’re making the back-to-school shop as seamless as possible.”
