Matchesfashion.com’s owners are reportedly exploring potential sale options, hunting for advisers to manage the process.
Founders Tom and Ruth Chapman are still the majority shareholders while venture capitalists Highland and Scottish Equity Partners own the remaining 30% between them.
Matches, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, unveiled a 61% jump in sales to £204m for the year to January 31, 2016 while EBITDA rocketed nearly fivefold to £19m.
The business, which hired chief executive Ulric Jerome in 2013 to allow the Chapmans to step back from the everyday running of the business, is growing its offer.
While the majority of its sales are online, it will soon open a sixth site in London, adding to its estate of four bricks-and-mortar stores and a private shopping townhouse concept.
Last year, it launched a 90-minute delivery service within London and moved its head office to The Shard.
A Matches spokesman said that it would not comment on the speculation originally published on Business of Fashion.
