- Former Jacques Vert chief executive joined Monsoon as finance director in 2013
- Allen will focus on Monsoon comeback after disastrous results
Monsoon Accessorize has appointed Paul Allen as its permanent chief executive after nearly a year as interim boss of the fashion retailer.
Allen, who joined Monsoon in 2013 as finance director, took over from John Browett as its chief last February. Browett left to become chief executive at Dunelm Group.
Allen had previously spent 10 years at Jacques Vert as chief executive.
It was previously thought that Monsoon was seeking a permanent chief executive with extensive fashion experience.
In its last full-year, the retailer reported an 18.7% drop in profits as sales dipped 7.8%. It was also named and shamed as paying 1,438 workers below the minimum wage.
