- Mike Iddon exits after less than two years into the role
- New Look’s marketing director also left the business in December
- Fashion chain was bought by new owners investment vehicle Brait last May
New Look’s chief financial officer Mike Iddon has stepped down from the business less than two years after he joined from Tesco.
Iddon, who was previously Tesco’s UK finance director, exited the fashion retailer on March 1. It remains unclear whether Iddon has another role lined up.
New Look’s marketing director, believed to be Gill Moore, also left the business in December after four-and-a-half years with the group.
The retailer was acquired by new owners last year, when South African investment vehicle Brait bought the chain for £1.9bn.
A New Look spokesman declined to comment on the departures, beyond confirming that both have left.
At the time of Iddon’s appointment in May 2014, New Look chief executive Anders Kristiansen said he had a “highly valuable breadth and depth of experience of the retail sector”.
Iddon, who spent 13 years at Tesco, had also worked at Kingfisher and Whitbread.
Last month New Look reported a 39% jump in third-quarter pre-tax profits after a 4.3% lift in like-for-likes. Last year the chain launched standalone men’s stores, and its fifth store opened last month.
