New Look has replaced Zara as Britain’s favourite fashion retailer, according to fashion recommendation site Dressipi.
Dressipi’s Fashion Brands Index follows the favoured brands of its members from a sample of 10,000 women. Some 24% rated New Look as a favourite brand, while 23% of women said Zara was their top pick. Last year, 33% of women opted for Zara.
H&M and Topshop shared third place with an equal share of 21%, followed by Next and River Island.
Dorothy Perkins and Primark were also in the top ten brands.
Dressipi co-founder Sarah McVittie said: “Just a year ago it looked like Zara had the rest of the high street on the run, but the latest Fashion Brands Index shows that a year is a very long time in fashion.
“New Look has been an increasingly important force in UK fashion for a while now, but really broke through in 2013 with strong spring and summer collections and a couple of smart celebrity collaborations, including one with Kelly Brook.”
