Former Jigsaw chief executive Peter Ruis has joined US fashion and homewares retailer Anthropologie as the managing director of its international business.
Ruis, who joins Anthropologie on Monday, will lead its business outside the US. Anthropologie has a presence in Germany, France and the UK, where it has 12 stores, most of which are in London.
Ruis left Jigsaw in March after four-and-a-half years at the helm amid the business’ stake sale. Carphone Warehouse co-founder David Ross snapped up a majority stake in the fashion retailer.
During his time at Jigsaw, Ruis took it back to its design-led roots and focused the brand on high-quality investment pieces rather than following the latest trends.
Ruis was previously buying and brand director at John Lewis where he won plaudits for transforming the department store’s fashion offer.
