Primark has announced the expansion of its click-and-collect trial to include womenswear for the first time, in addition to its current childrenswear offering.
Primark confirmed that up to 1,000 womenswear products will be available to shop across the 57 stores in the UK in which the click-and-collect service operates.
Womenswear products will be available to shop from September 13 and Primark said it will offer customers “much broader choice, greater convenience and even more reasons to visit their local high street”.
Primark said in a statement that womenswear is its “most popular category by far” and shoppers can expect to find new autumn/winter collections, as well as specialist products including lingerie and nightwear ranges, as part of the click-and-collect expansion.
The click-and-collect trial is currently available in 57 stores including London’s Oxford Street, Manchester’s Trafford Centre and in cities including Liverpool and Sheffield.
Primark first launched its click-and-collect trial in November last year as it piloted the proposition in 25 of its stores across the northwest of England, but this only offered shoppers a selection of its children’s products.
The value fashion giant announced the rollout of the trial in London in July this year as it expanded the service to an additional 32 stores.
When the trial first launched, boss Paul Marchant said: “We’re big fans of the high street and we believe passionately that a thriving local shopping area benefits everyone in the community.
“Our approach to online is all about supporting and complementing our stores, which will always be at the heart of our business.”
