Reiss has hired an ex-Mothercare, M&S and Next director as its new group trading director.
Karl Doyle is the latest in a line of ex-Next staffers to be hired by new boss Christos Angelides, who worked with Doyle for a decade at the Lord Wolfson-led business.
Doyle was formerly executive group product director for Mothercare under Mark Newton-Jones and previous to that held the same role at Shop Direct, where he stayed just one year.
He has spent much of his career at M&S, starting there in 1987 and returning in 2005 as trading director, a role he held until moving to Shop Direct eight years later.
Reiss is at a crucial juncture as new boss Angelides beds in. Angelides, who was responsible for product at Next, took over the chief executive role from founder David Reiss, who remains as chairman, in March.
Momentum at the fashion chain, which had previously been subject to a three-year turnaround plan, is building.
Reiss posted a 55.9% spike in pre-tax profit to £17.8m during the year ended January 31, 2016. Last Christmas, total sales rose 19.7%, while UK sales climbed 11.6%.
Founder Reiss raised more than £100m by selling a majority stake in the business to private-equity firm Warburg Pincus in April 2016.
