Cornish fashion retailer Seasalt has drafted in a new chief financial officer in a ”significant strengthening” of its top team.

Louise Couch CFO Headshot -0001

Seasalt said Couch brings “a wealth of valuable industry experience”

Louise Couch will step into the role of chief financial officer, as well as becoming an executive board member taking responsibility for the retailer’s financial decisions, business strategy and ongoing global expansion.

Couch will report directly to Seasalt chief executive Paul Hayes.

Seasalt said she brings “a wealth of valuable industry experience” as a result of her practical knowledge across consumer and technology.

Most recently, Couch worked as a senior director of international financial planning and analysis at at-home fitness platform Peloton Interactive.

She also previously held senior roles at investment banks during her career including JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley, focusing on the retail sector at both organisations.

Couch said of her appointment: “I’m delighted to be taking on this opportunity at Seasalt, joining the team at an incredibly exciting time in the brand’s domestic and international expansion.

“Seasalt is a fantastic success story, with such a strong heritage, and I’m very much looking forward to being on board to define and deliver the next stages of growth.”

Seasalt chief executive Paul Hayes added: “I’m delighted to welcome Louise to Seasalt; her appointment marks a significant strengthening of our senior leadership team.

”Her extensive knowledge and experience, particularly in international markets, will be invaluable as we continue to develop our long-term strategy to support our growth ambitions.”

The news comes after Seasalt became the latest fashion retailer to achieve B Corp certification earlier this month.

The fashion retailer said it was “extremely proud” to achieve the status and added that it marks the company’s “hard work that has gone into achieving the certification across the business”.
