US personal styling service Stitch Fix will launch in the UK this week, following a recruitment drive to enlist merchandising and styling teams.

The NASDAQ-listed business caters to three million customers in the US and works by asking customers to fill in a style profile quiz, providing the business with their pricing, style, and fit preferences.

The customer is then matched with an expert stylist who curates a five item ‘fix’ by leveraging Stitch Fix’s proprietary styling algorithm. There is a £10 styling fee for each shipment, which can be redeemed against the items the customer chooses to purchase.

The retailer carries 60 brands from Kitri and J Brand to Joules and Sweaty Betty across menswear and womenswear with prices ranging from £30 to £500.

The UK market will be headed up by managing director Simon Leesley. He was previously vice president of strategy for Stitch Fix in the US. During that time he oversaw the expansion into menswear, kidswear and plus size clothing while leading on corporate development and M&A. He formerly worked at The Boston Consulting Group and Neiman Marcus.

Former buying director of Miss Selfridge and River Island Rachel Stack will take up the role of vice president of product and trading.
