The founder of The Edit LDN has joined Topshop and Topman in a new senior marketing role.
Moses Rashid has joined Topshop and Topman as global marketing director, Retail Week has learned.
Rashid’s new role will see him focus on the brand marketing of both Topshop and Topman as well as “defining the brand marketing strategy, building new awareness in global markets and re-engaging the brand with relevant audiences”.
He joins amid a relaunch of Topshop.com under the lead of managing director Michelle Wilson.
The news follows Rashid’s departure from The Edit LDN last month after five years.
During his time as founder and chief executive of the global trainer marketplace, he delivered partnerships with Harrods, 2K, 0207 Def Jam and the Chicago Bulls among others.
He brings experience of building a global brand as well as “fostering a community approach” to business.
Rashid said of his new role: “There continues to be a lot of love for the brands through the Asos platform and we’re excited to re-engage and bring the best of fashion to a broader audience.
“You can expect some exciting partnerships with both exciting creative talent and international retail partners.”
Topshop and Topman managing director Michelle Wilson added: “I’m delighted to welcome Moses to the Topshop leadership team as we begin to rebuild Topshop and Topman’s presence outside of the Asos platform and engage with new consumers through the relaunch of Topshop.com and new retail partnerships.
“Moses brings great brand building experience and an entrepreneurial and innovative spirit to complement the talented team of London-based designers and product developers that create exciting fashion for our customers.”
Rashid’s move to Topshop comes after Topshop owner Asos announced a new joint venture with Heartland, the holding company of Danish fashion retailer Bestseller, to sell a majority stake in both brands last September.
Asos sold a 75% stake in both Topshop and Topman in a deal worth £135m, with Asos retaining 25% in the joint venture.
At the time, Asos boss José Antonio Ramos Calamonte said Topshop and Topman had made “good progress” since the fashion giant acquired the brands in 2021 and added that the new joint venture signified the “potential” of both as it plans to bring them to “more customers globally”.
