Plus-size fashion firm Yours Clothing returned to profit in its last full year as its omnichannel strategy started to bear fruit.
The retailer generated pre-tax profits of £6.6m in the year to January 28, compared with losses of £1.9m the previous year.
Sales advanced 22% to £88.3m, driven by growth at its online division and 30 new store openings.
Revenue from the retailer’s ecommerce platform surged 26% and now represents 41% of its total sales. This was spearheaded by improvements to its web platform as well as the popularity of click-and-collect and order in-store options.
Meanwhile, sales from its 130 UK shops advanced 20%, reflecting, it said, its “resolute focus” on customer service.
Yours has also gained traction in its menswear department, BadRhino, where sales are up 27%.
The brand launched with Tesco last November and started selling online with Zalando in December.
Founder and chief executive Andrew Killingsworth said: “This growth reflects the growing demand of our products and the strength of our omnichannel business model.
“We are excited about the significant growth opportunities ahead as we look to realise our ambition to be the leading plus-size retailer in the UK.”
Since year-end, the retailer appointed Missguided chief digital officer Jonathan Wall as a non-executive director.
