Retail Week looks ahead to the next seven days, with updates from Dixons Carphone, House of Fraser and Bonmarché coming up.
Bonmarché
The fashion retailer will report its full-year results on Tuesday, June 19. Bonmarché has suffered a decline in sales over the year as online growth failed to offset “disappointing” performance across its store portfolio. Like-for-likes slipped 1.5% across the period and suffered particularly badly in its fourth quarter when group like-for-likes, including online sales, fell 7.4%. Despite these declines, Bonmarché insisted pre-tax profit would be “in line with the board’s expectations”.
Dixons Carphone
The electricals specialist will post its final results on Thursday, June 21. Dixons Carphone has been through the mill lately: not only has it revealed that it had suffered one of the UK’s biggest ever hacks of customer data and payment information, boss Alex Baldock also attacked historic underinvestment in staffing and customer proposition, which occurred under previous chief executive Seb James.
House of Fraser
The department store’s landlords and creditors vote on its controversial CVA on Friday, June 22. House of Fraser’s new ownership and investment hinges on its CVA passing but key lenders are understood to have demanded proof earlier this month that new owners C Banner would provide the £70m investment pledged.
