Retail Week looks ahead to next week with updates from New Look, Dunelm and the latest grocery update from Kantar.
New Look
Fashion chain New Look will report third-quarter results on Tuesday. The retailer, which was acquired by Christo Wiese’s Brait investment vehicle last June, is looking to build on a solid half-year performance when pre-tax profits jumped 40% off the back of a 5.9% rise in sales.
Dunelm
The value homewares retailer will report interim results on Wednesday. The retailer will hope to have some more positive news following its Christmas trading results, when like-for-likes were down 0.8% in the 13 weeks to January 2. In its last full-year to June 27, pre-tax profits rose 4.7%.
Kantar grocery figures
Grocers will be keenly watching how their rivals have fared post-Christmas as Kantar updates on Tuesday with figures for the 12 weeks to January 31. Sainsbury’s will be hoping that it is continuing to outperform its big four rivals after it triumphed over Christmas as consumers traded up.
