Apple UK saw retail sales grow by 31% to £272m for the year to September 26 2009 from £207m in 2008, according to documents filed at Companies House.
The increase in retail turnover was primarily due to stronger sales of Mac portable products, music and iPhone accessories, and the iPod Touch, the company’s filings said.
Apple narrowed its net loss from £4.1m in 2008 to £2.5m in 2009. It continued invest in new stores during the year, three new stores were opened in the period and Apple said it is planning two new UK stores in 2010.
Apple currently has 27 stores in the UK.
Apple sales are expected to enjoy a boost this year from the launch of the iPad which has sold over 2 million units so far worldwide. It launched in the UK last month.
Apple is widely expected to unveil the latest version of its iPhone later today.
