Cotswold Outdoor has reported a 14% increase in sales last year compared to 2011 and hit a milestone of £100m in turnover on Christmas Eve as shoppers purchased winter wares.
The 67-store retailer has reported as a “robust” rise like-for-like sales during 2012 including double digit growth in December.
Cotswold Outdoor said the launch of a click-and-collect service in the second half of last year had contributed to sales.
Cotswold Outdoor chief executive Hans Falkenburg said: “Cotswold Outdoor has worked hard to build itself up from quite literally two men in a shed in 1974 to the national multi-channel retailer we are today.
“We’ve had an outstanding 2012 and have now hit the £100, mark in a year of recession. We’re looking forward to further success ahead of our fortieth anniversary next year.”
