Shareholders in entertainment specialist Game staged a revolt against the retailer’s remuneration stance at yesterday’s AGM.
A majority – 51% - voted against or withheld support for Game’s remuneration report because of a one-off payment to chairman Chris Bell.
On top of his £45,000 salary Bell received £182,500 for running Game for three months after former boss Lisa Morgan left.
A Game spokesman told the Daily Mail: “The board is aware a number of shareholders voted against all ex-gratia payments as a matter of course. The payments to the board reflect exceptional circumstances faced by game at that time.”
Yesterday game cut its sales expectations for this year.
