Harvey Nichols owner Dickson Poon is eyeing a takeover of jewellery group Aurum, it has been reported.
Poon has registered his interest in buying the jeweller which operates as Goldsmiths, Mappin & Webb and Watches of Switzerland according to Sky News.
The jeweller is understood to have attracted interested from a number of parties including several private equity firms.
Aurum has been put up for sale by the resolution committee of Landsbanki, the collapsed Icelandic bank which owned the group. The retailer has been given a £200m price tag.
Advisory firm Cavendish Corporate Finance is handling the Aurum sale.
The jeweller is the latest Landsbanki asset to be put up for sale as part of its winding up process. Buyers are also being sought for toy retailer Hamley and frozen food chain Iceland.
No comment was available from Harvey Nichols and Aurum.
