- White Stuff’s like-for-likes increased 11%
- Total sales grew 20.1%
- Online sales increased 40.7%
White Stuff reported strong Christmas trading online and in-store as like-for-likes jumped 11% alongside a sharp increase in online sales.
Total sales rose 20.1% year on year in the five weeks to January 2, the fashion retailer said.
It bucked the bricks-and-mortar trend over Christmas as like-for-likes soared 11%.
White Stuff said online sales leapt 40.7% and made up 29.4% of the retailer’s total sales.
This increase was supported by m-commerce sales as mobile and tablet visits compromised 65% of the online traffic to its website over the period.
Chief executive Jeremy Seigal said he was pleased with a “robust performance” over Christmas.
“We remained prime through the Black Friday selling period and maintained full-priced trading for the core December trading period, despite the unusually mild weather” he said.
The retailer’s international sales jumped 61%.
White Stuff opened its first German standalone store in Oldenburg last year as well as opening five new UK stores last quarter.
“Our customers responded very positively to our strong multichannel proposition, improved gifting product offer and new shops,” added Seigal.
