Alan Smith appointed as chairman of flooring chain
Former B&Q managing director Alan Smith has been appointed as chairman at Floors-2-Go.
Smith, who is also chairman of Robert Dyas, takes over from Roy Gabbie with immediate effect.
Floors-2-Go chief executive Simon Farnsworth thanked Gabbie for the contribution he had made to the group in its first phase as a public company and added that Smith's 'wealth of retail and PLC experience will be invaluable to the company as we continue to grow'.
Seymour Pierce analyst Richard Ratner said: 'One cannot regard Alan as anything other than a retail heavyweight, given his record at Kingfisher and Somerfield.'
