Former Marks and Spencer retail director Anthony Thompson has been made managing director of George
Former Marks & Spencer retail director Anthony Thompson has been appointed as managing director of Asda’s clothing business George.
As a member of Asda’s board he will be in charge of the UK value fashion brand, as well as helping to push forward its international expansion.
Asda chief executive Andy Bond said: "Anthony will be a great asset to both George and Asda. He is an experienced clothing expert, has a real passion and enthusiasm."
Thompson was responsible for introducing the management of M&S stores by format including flagships, Simply Food and retail parks. He has also gained retail experience at Gap and Blackwell.
