French position strengthened
Game Group has acquired French retailer Addon for Eu6.2 million (£4.3 million). The deal will provide Game with 10 leasehold properties with a market value of about Eu2 million (£1.4 million), plus a further 10 franchise stores. The acquisition brings the retailer's French store count to 88.
Game said that Addon had a turnover of Eu18.5 million (£12.8 million) for the year to March 31.
Game chief executive Martin Long said: 'This acquisition gives further momentum to our European expansion strategy and ensures that we will have more than 100 owned stores trading in France for the key Christmas period. The acquired business has an existing customers base in locations where Game is not currently well represented.'
