Entertainment retailer Game has kitted out 45 newly opened stores under a£1.2 million systems and service contract with UK-based DigiPoS Systems.
Central to the agreement is the purchase, installation and maintenance of 125 EPoS systems at the new stores and two existing outlets, including the retailer's Oxford Street flagship in London.
In total, 380 stores across the chain will be upgraded with 1,000 Chip & PIN units, 1,000 cheque/receipt printers and 400 barcode label printers.
Till systems have also been replaced at two of Game's existing outlets, including its flagship store on Oxford Street.
Prior to the deal, Anker Systems provided all of Game's EPoS. In both new and re-fitted stores the checkouts will continue using Anker till software, making the change smoother for employees.
DigiPoS and Anker worked together closely on the integration project.
Game's key factor in choosing DigiPoS was its ability to keep up to speed with the retailer's rapid acquisitions and store openings in the UK and overseas. 'The most compelling reasons (for selecting DigiPoS) were price, short lead times and excellent technical backup,' explained Game head of IT Richard Kent.
Additional benefits for Game included space-saving - the EPoS systems are half the size of an average PC - and the ability to swipe cards down the side of the screen in full view of the customer.
Other DigiPoS customers include Majestic Wine, Harvey Nichols, Oasis, WHSmith and Lloydspharmacy.
