Game is eyeing a 30% slice of the UK online video games market by the end of the year and will back the drive with a raft of new services.
The games specialist will use cloud-based technology, new apps and online services including a PC download store to grow share, MCV reported.
In June, the retailer appointed former IGN Entertainment vice-president Ian Chambers to the new role of chief digital officer. He began the role last month.
Game currently attracts 800,000 visitors a week but has traditionally struggled to compete with rivals including Amazon in the fiercely competitive digital space.
Game chief tech officer Andy Grainger said: “We are looking to grow our online share to 30% in channel by the end of the year. We have big plans for our online offering. Our stores are vital in driving traffic to our app and website. The more we grow, the more integrated our channels will become.”
Game forecasts a fifth of customers will shop via mobile devices and is working with IBM to recommend products to them in real time.
Game fell into administration last year amid competition from online rivals.
