Gap has announced that chief financial officer Byron Pollitt has decided to leave the company in mid September and will be replaced by senior vice-president of corporate finance Sabrina Simmons.
Pollitt leaves on September 14 to pursue an opportunity in a different industry. Gap chairman and chief executive officer Glenn Murphy said: “On behalf of everyone at Gap, I’d like to thank Byron for his tremendous contributions. He’s played an integral role in restoring the company’s financial health and installing the strong financial discipline across the organisation.”
Simmons has been with Gap for six years and will be promoted to the newly created position of executive vice-president of Gap finance. She will serve as acting chief financial officer. In her expanded role she will be on the executive leadership team and will oversee business-related financial matters.
