Retail Week looks ahead to next week with trading updates from WHSmith, Pets at Home, Halfords and N Brown all on the agenda.
WHSmith
The retailer reveals its Christmas results on Wednesday. In October it reported that full-year like-for-likes were flat, but pre-tax profits rose 8%.
Pets at Home
The specialist reports its third-quarter numbers on Wednesday. In November it unveiled an 11.8% jump in pre-tax profits to £45.2m during its first half. The retailer is piloting more branches of the luxury dog store Barkers.
N Brown
N Brown unveils third-quarter results on Thursday. The home shopping group is seeking an improvement after half-year underlying profits slid 15.9% as sales fell 4.2%.
Halfords
The cycling and car parts specialist reports third-quarter results on Thursday. All eyes will be on the cycling arm after first-half profits took a hit as like-for-likes fell 2.9%. Halfords blamed the drop on a challenging summer for mainstream bikes.
