An Argos advert promoting its home delivery service has been banned by the Advertising Standards Authority for being misleading to potential customers.
The ad, which launched in September, promised Argos would deliver “at a time slot that’s right for you”. However delivery is limited to just two slots during weekdays - morning or evening which span up to 8 hours.
ASA today banned the ad concluding that “a time slot that’s right for you” implied that customers could specify a delivery time which was at their convenience and they therefore should have a wide degree of choice about when their goods would be delivered.
The ad cannot be shown again in its current form.
