The former managing director of Scottish chain Acorn Pet Centres has led a rescue of the business.

Douglas Mutter will continue to run the 24-store chain, which went into administration in September. 153 people will keep their jobs as a result of the deal.

Administrator Tenon said it had more than 40 expressions of interest in the business. Mutter said his team has “exciting plans to develop the company.”
