Halfords has partnered with World and Olympic Cycle champion Victoria Pendelton to design an exclusive range of women’s bikes.
The move follows the success of its Boardman bikes range, which are designed in partnership with Olympic gold medallist Chris Boardman.
Designed for the casual cyclist, the bikes are available in three different frames priced from £299.99 to £349.99 and will be available from Halford’s website from March 22 and in stores from March 29.
Chief executive David Wild said: “We are thrilled to be working with Victoria, her knowledge of the characteristics of a perfect ladies bike plus Halfords’ manufacturing and retailing expertise is a great match.
“We believe the Victoria Pendleton brand provides a strong opportunity for our cycle business which has seen four successive quarters of growth.”
Retail analysts expect the cycles market to grow by 5% this year due to interest in cycling inspired by the Olympic games.
