Online greetings card specialist Moonpig has reported sales of £100m bolstered by an increase in demand for personalised cards.
Moonpig - founded by Dragon’s Den star Nick Jenkins - registered an 82% surge in sales through its app in the year to June 2019.
Moonpig chief executive Nickyl Raithatha told the Mail on Sunday: “Customers have bought into our vision. A personalised card is always more meaningful, whether sent from the sofa, the commute, or the gym.”
The greetings card specialist has exclusive ranges with Disney and Warner Brothers and a reminder service to prompt customers of their loved one’s birthdays.
Moonpig chair Kate Swann said: “Ninety percent of greetings cards are still sold online so there is still huge potential for growth.”
During the year Moonpig separated from its parent company Photobox to run independently alongside its Dutch sister company Greetz.
