The Toyfair 2014 showcased toys galore this week at London’s Olympia including one of the must-have toys for this year, the Hexbug.
The mechanical toys have got bigger for 2014, while the brand’s battling spiders are also set to make it on to kids’ wishlists.
Here, Hexbug marketing manager Heather Corbett tells Retail Week reporter Tiffany Holland how the product has captured children’s imaginations.
It emerged this week the toy market declined by 1% in 2013 as sales of ‘pocket money’ toys slumped. But retailers and suppliers are expecting to return to growth in 2014 due to a summer of kids’ films and new products, according to the British Toy and Hobby Association.
