WHSmith expects to hit year-end market forecasts as its travel and high street businesses deliver “good performances”.
In a pre-close update, the stationer and bookseller said the new store opening programme in its travel division is on track in the UK and internationally.
Meawhile, its focus on gross margin gains and tight cost control in its high street business “continues to deliver a good performance”.
The retailer added that both businesses remain “highly” cash-generative and it expects annual results to be in line with market expectations.
WHSmith is set to reveal its annual results for the year to August 31 on October 16.
