Ahead of the grocer revealing its full year results at midday, Asda said its store and depot staff are to share the bonus payout, its tenth consecutive year of payouts.
More than 20,000 staff have exceeded their target and will receive a bonus of up to £437.
Its top performing stores were Greenhithe, Stenhousemuir in Scotland, Llangefni in Wales and Bangor in Northern Ireland.
Staff with over six months service will receive their bonus this Friday. Full time staff will receive a bonus of up to £350.
Andy Clarke, chief executive of Asda said: “There is no doubt in my mind that the colleagues working in our stores and depots are the heroes of our business. They have worked incredibly hard this year to deliver the best for our customers – taking everything from the difficult economic climate to the great British weather in their stride. I take my hat off to them.
“Our bonus payout is directly linked to our stores’ performance, so to be able to offer a bonus to our colleagues during challenging times, is testament to the fact that we are giving consumers what they want – quality, value and service every day.”
