Asda is to return to pounds and ounces on its strawberries for the first time in 16 years.
From Saturday, shoppers can buy up to a 1lb punnet of strawberries, and it will roll out the pricing if the trial proves successful.
The grocer said customers had been asking for the return of imperial measures. It said seven in ten shoppers still get confused by metric weights.
Buyer Andy Jackson told The Sun: “We have a steady stream of people asking us to put imperial measurements back on packs. We have taken a common-sense approach.”
Asda will also display metric measurements next to the imperial ones.
