The Co-op is launching a competition for customers to design a sandwich to go on sale in stores nationwide.
From 1 August, customers can visit goodwithfood.co.uk/favourite to submit thier idea for a new limited edition sandwich, their list of ingredients and describe why their entry should win.
The winning own-brand sandwich, chosen by a panel of Co-op experts, will go into pre-production in 2012. The winner will be awarded £1,000.
The Co-op suggested possible combinations such as marmite & marmalade on a bloomer, a sausage & mash wrap, pastrami & pickle on tomato bread and banana, cream cheese & chutney on rye.
