Iconic US sweet store Dylan’s Candy Bar is considering opening stores in the UK.
President and chief operating officer Maggy Siegel told Retail Week that although the retailer has “no formal plans” to launch stores here, it is “definitely in our strategic plan over the next few years”.
Dylan’s Candy Bar launched in the US in 2001. It has five stores in the country, with its 15,000 sq ft New York flagship claiming to be the largest sweet shop in the world.
The retailer prides itself on the “chic and modern” design of its stores, which house cafes, bars and private party rooms. It also sells sweet-related slogan t-shirts and accessories.
One of the chain’s founders is Dylan Lauren, daughter of fashion designer Ralph Lauren.
