After abandoning plans for a merger with Asda, Sainsburys is pushing on with a strategy to set it in good stead for the future, including investment in stores and digital technology, sharper prices – especially on basics – and more benefits from its acquisition of Argos.

Chief executive Mike Coupe tells Retail Week why he is confident that Sainsbury’s will continue to thrive in a ferociously competitive grocery environment and a rapidly changing consumer landscape.
