Sales at Waitrose rose 7.3% in the week to December 13 as the seasonal shopping surge continues at the upmarket grocer.
Sales reached £148.7m during the week, which was an increase of 6% on the same week last year and 7.3% on the previous week.
Christmas food orders were starting to take off as organic whole turkeys saw demand jump 46% while butter-basted and double-stuffed turkeys saw 47% and 53% increases in orders, respectively.
John Lewis on Tuesday reported its weekly sales edged up 0.6% last week to £150.7m.
